# Moving Metadata from windows to Linux question,

Yes, it will remove the library items from the Plex database. It will not delete the video files. You move the video files out of reach during the procedure.

The unfortunate side effect of the [Plex Dance](https://forums.plex.tv/t/the-plex-dance/197064) is that this particular show will appear as “Recently Added”. You can only pick what’s worse: the “missing” episodes or the wrong “added at” date.
