I have lot of mpg4 files with embedded subtitles.
When I play them through plex on computer, I’m able to select one of the embedded subtitles.
If I play the same file on my crhomecast plex app and select the embedded subtitle, nothing shows up.
Any idea why, when it is embedded?

VOBSUB subtitles and the mp4 format have a history not to mix well.

Step 1:
drag the mp4 file into [MKVtoolnixGUI](https://mkvtoolnix.download/ "MKVtoolnixGUI") and place the resulting MKV file on your server.
If that doesn’t help, proceed to
Step 2: convert the VOBSUB subtitle to SRT, using e.g. [Introduction: convert image-based subtitles to SRT with Subtitle Edit](https://forums.plex.tv/t/introduction-convert-image-based-subtitles-to-srt-with-subtitle-edit/636187/1)
then place it beside the video file, named as explained in [https://support.plex.tv/articles/200471133-adding-local-subtitles-to-your-media/](https://support.plex.tv/articles/200471133-adding-local-subtitles-to-your-media/)
