# MQA pass through and Plex

Hi Everyone
I have seen Plex send some files NOT all from TIDAL as MQA’s and was recognised as such by my Project Pre Box S2 … Is there plans to implement this fully or am i experiencing a lucky glitch in the system.
My understanding was the Plex didn’t support these files.
Just curious

Tidal does not provide MQA audio to Plex so we don’t support it there. I don’t actually know what happens if you add your own MQA files. I don’t have any to test myself. If you have a sample, I can test it.

Sorry i don’t have downloaded just stream from my Tidal account, i figure some files must be recognised as MQA by decoders,
Yes i know Plex does no unfolding of MQA’s like Roon or Audirvana, just odd.
