# Music folder view is minging

When viewing music in folder view why are there no options to show art, arrange change view to horizontal and other visual balance?

Are you asking if what you’re seeing is expected, or are you asking for Plex to justify their design/implementation decisions?
If the former, yes it is expected.

I’m asking why is it so void and poorly set out with no options or rather no basic options of a standard you’d expect at the very least to organise in a neat manner.

Ah, the latter then. I can’t really answer that, other than to speculate. Plex isn’t really intended to be a file browser. When you attempt to use it in that manner, you get the bare minimum.
Rather it’s intended that you use the Library view (by Artists/Albums/Tracks) to browse your media and have the full experience.
Again, that’s speculation.

I believe there may be some feature suggestions (in that section of the forum) requesting more view option in the folder view (grid vs. list) but I don’t have time at the moment to search.

I’m sure it used to have it and also you need to see a folder structure when you stream on devices
surely, so a file browser is the bare minimum it needs to perform as when structured around folders when the user has millions of songs in folders albeit yes for eg 10 diffalbums in artist folder. I find Plex rather messy in all avenues of the music side
The only one that looks decent is albums
But I’d like the folder view to look like that
