Music quality in Plex Amp and Plex main app

Hi, I am running plex from my ipad for music which is feeding to my schiit bifrost 2 dac via usb. I used dragonfly black dac to see the bitrate i was getting. Technically and my own hearing sessions i found that the quality of plex main app is better for music than the plex amp.

I was wondering if this is true? if there is any update coming for plex amp which will play bit perfect rate?

lastly does plex support chromecast?

It’s the same underlying player stack, so that’s confusing. In the latest Plexamp release you can enable sample rate switching in Settings > Playback > Audio Output which should control the external DAC.

Plex, or Plexamp? The answer is “yes” to both, though.
