# Music searching (still?) broken

The search results shown in the dropdown will only show the first three matching items in each category (three tracks, three artists, three albums, etc.). If you click the “Search all sources…” link at the top, it will show the first 30 matching items. Plex’s Search feature is not designed to find all matching items, a fact that I too have [reported](https://forums.plex.tv/t/bug-search-only-returns-first-30-results/184897). The only way to actually find _all_ matching items is to use the Custom Filters.
