I’ve been hard at work on v3, and it’s shaping up to be the biggest release yet.🎉

Some of the highlights include:

- 🧠 **Synapse** — real audio analysis (tempo, key, danceability, instrumental detection)
- 🎯 Smarter playlist generation with improved search logic
- 🎵 “Based On” recommendations for both tracks and artists
- 📻 Much deeper Last.fm integration
- 🎧 Acoustic fingerprinting to identify the real artists behind many “Various Artists” tracks
- 📊 Playlist Audit, Query Logs, and CSV export
- 🚀 Better performance, reliability, and a much more polished user experience

One of the biggest changes isn’t a feature—it’s the philosophy.

MusicMind now uses the best tool for each job:

- Measure audio when it can be measured.
- Use trusted sources like MusicBrainz, AcoustID, and Last.fm when the data already exists.
- Use AI only where interpretation actually adds value.

The result is a system that’s smarter, more transparent, and much less dependent on AI than previous versions.

I’m putting the finishing touches on v3 now. Thanks again to everyone who’s been testing, suggesting ideas, and helping shape the project. I can’t wait to get this release into your hands.

\*Full disclosure: If you are interested in MusicMind for Plex but have not already installed v2, I would urge you to wait until v3 is released. It will save you some time.

Was hoping this would bring Ollama support or any local AI support by now.

Either way as much as this tool is something I am interested in, it seems to require Linux and I’m running Plex on windows so I guess I can’t run it

Just run in it WSL, and use env variables for windows path mapping. Problem solved.

Edit: also it appears v3 will bring docker support which you might find easier than WSL.

Right the hang up is testing the docker installs. I should have them done this week.

Thanks for your patience!

> After a lot of work, MusicMind for Plex v3.0 is ready. MusicMind started as a natural-language playlist generator, but it has grown into something much broader: a local companion for understanding, exploring, and rediscovering a Plex music library. What’s in v3spouting_whale Docker & Portainer support This was one of the most requested additions. MusicMind can now be deployed using Docker Compose or Portainer, with slim and full variants, so you don’t have to install all of the Python depen…
