# My verification codes don't work

Hello,

On both my iPad and iPhone, my stored verification codes for some reason don’t work (I should probably never have switched on two-step verification, as since we live in the country, there is no need for that much security.) I am logged into Plex on my desktop computer, is that going to assist me in getting my Pad/Phone working properly again?

Also, the Plex recovery code that was emailed to me after ‘verify in another way’ option doesn’t work either, when typed into the Verification Code screen

The stored verification codes are each only for one-time use. After they have been used, they are invalid.  
Also, these codes are only for emergencies.  
Normally, you are supposed to use an authenticator app (“TOTP”-compatible), which can create a disposable code for you whenever you need one.
