Will do, thanks for all your hard work, from a fellow programmer!
When I go to the agent settings for MAL.net I don't have a cog to sign into my MAL account. Pls help.
doesnt seem to find any anime for me not sure what i did wrong
This was working for me in the past but seems broken now. Hana is not returning results either. Short term fix is to switch to anidb agent but their search is more strict though so bit more elbow grease needed to manual scrub.
Great work, but, your agent won't recognize Excel Saga and keep recognize my Monster anime as Digimon Tamers. WTF. Ok for excel saga, but Digimon instead of Monster OMFG .
edit: even "Ghost in the shell arise" 1 and 2 can't recognize it.

Did you delete your Cache in your Plex Media server -> Plugin Support -> Cache -> net.devvsbugs.coding.plex.myanimelist and restarted the server? If you did please upload the log file on the Agent so that I can Take a look
I have a problem where all series have metadata from 'Killer Women' as the Season 1 cover and first 8 episodes have thumbnails and descriptions from the 'Killer Women' but the episode names are correct. I'm using BABS and all series(like in MAL) are in their own directories. The metadata for the episodes will be correct if I match only with theTVDB. Seems like it will always download metadata for 'Killer Women' and then overwrite everything with metadata from MAL. Looking at the logs tho theTVDB does download correct ones however the ones for 'Killer Women' are used.(not sure when these are loaded)

yeah thats a problem with using myanimelist agent with TheTVDB agent as contribution, remove in your options the TheTVDB as contributor of metadata and it should work.

Done, nothing changed.

Okay your Excel Saga should be Heppoko Jikken Animation Excel Saga. This result will end in a Title match Score of 75% which Plex does not Accept (over 80% I think). I recommend Renaming it or match it on your own. As far as you "Monster" Anime... there isn't even an entry remotely to what you are looking for, an link to the myanimelist entry would be nice, also please rematch Ghost in the Shell Arise and send me the log file because in the one you posted it isn't mentioned. Thank you

It is found but on the second result page, and I only parse the first one to reduce requests been made to myanimelist. And since my API is bound to the HTTP search of myanimelist I have no influence on the search results.
So far I didn't found a way to display more results on the first page which I think is intended to reduce the work of the backend. I will keep this in mind and dig deeper maybe there is a way to show more results on the first page but i can't promise that.
I just don't understand my it isn't on the first page....
I'm sorry I couldn't help

Np mate, i will wait for hummingbird agent. (Myanimelist is a ■■■■ for their api) If will take a long time to finish mal agent, i will start study python and make one for hummingbird.
When my holidays are over I will begin working on the Humminbird agent. Still need to talk to the guys over at Hummingbird ...

Ah ok, anyway i will start make one for my own so i can have a purpose to start use python. I just tested the mal api and for excel saga and monster they are always at 1* place in the list. I don't know what kind of query did you use to search but it's not mal fault.
like I said my MAL Api (not the official one) is bound to the HTTP Website search. So its like going on the website and search in the searchbar.

Ops sry, but why you didn't use the official api?

I used the official API in the first version, but it didn't had that many information I wanted, and you needed an myanimelist account to use it. So I used the unofficial API from a MAL user, which wasn't working anymore some time ago. and then I decided to write my own. :)
Any plans on episode descriptions, perhaps from another source?
I don’t know if you parse the HTML page or not but if you don’t want to use the official one and parse the HTML page, I suggest you to find the id with the official api and then just parse the page http://myanimelist.net/anime/{id}/
