Hi all,

I am migrating from a DS416Play to a DS423+ due to transcoding capabilities.
Is there a recommended path how to migrate my Plex database so I retain all information?

[Move an Install to Another System](https://support.plex.tv/articles/201370363-move-an-install-to-another-system/)

If you skip copying preferences.xml, you can run both systems simultaneously (see _Copy Additional Server Settings From the Source System_ section of support document).

The Plex [Synology FAQ - Questions, Answers, and How-To’s](https://forums.plex.tv/t/synology-faq-questions-answers-and-how-tos/490215) is also helpful for running PMS on Synology NAS.
