- Server: v.1.41.2.9200-c6bbc1b53 (Mac)
- Client: v.1.105.1.257-3bc35ab9 (Mac + other devices)

We are unable to connect to our Plex server remotely, though internal access works fine. When attempting to connect externally, clients either show ‘unavailable/cannot security access’ or ‘server is logged in but cannot connect.’ The server status briefly shows ‘successful’ (green text) before reverting to ‘not working’ (red text) after a second.

Steps Taken:

1. Successfully set up port forwarding on routers (verified with port testing tool, per help documentation)
2. Updated and restarted all components (server, clients, routers)
3. Disabled firewalls on clients and router, no VPNs running
4. Enabled UPnP, then manually forwarded ports (default port 32400 unsuccessful, but 32401 worked)

Current Status:

- Internal access: Working
- External access: Failed
- Port forwarding: Verified working through test tool

[Server log](https://support.plex.tv/articles/200250417-plex-media-server-log-files/) files: [Dropbox](https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/ab5yse20gzbqnkrezz618/2024-12-01-Plex-Server-LOG.txt?rlkey=rcx6anhtsz6cszp70pbyixp0k&dl=0)

Could someone help diagnose this issue based on these details?

That would be most helpful!

I’ve just run a port check on the IP address and port shown in your video on drop box and it’s reporting it as closed.

Have you checked your WAN IP mtaches to ensure you’re not subject to CGNAT?
