The existing functionality is good, but it is missing something critical. The ability to just choose the channel you want to watch live. As well as the ability to sort shows and movies by channel.
Today, I desperately wanted to watch something on CBS in a hurry. The guide was wrong as occasionally happens as to what was on CBS at the time. So I couldn’t.
Sometimes we just like the lineup on a channel.
Also, people are used to being able to just flip the channel to NBC or ABC and leave it there. Plex needs to offer people that.
Additionally, when searching for things we need the ability to sort by channel and record it on that channel. Some channels are HD, some channels have less annoying graphics, etc. Sometimes we know the channel but can’t remember the name of the show.
