New Plex Guide Very Poor in UK

I’m seeing the same in the guide with Plex for Windows:

Versus Freeview:

Looked into the schedule and I can see lots of errors in the schedule for Drama UK. Being 1 hour adrift as well as other discrepancies when comparing to the channel schedule TV Guide: Drama channel - UKTV Play

I am referring it to our provider

Rest of this week now looks OK, but next week messed up again,.

QI XL airing on BBC 2 Saturday showing as S17 E18 “Rude” - should be S17 E1.

Thank you for reporting this. It needs to be S18 E1. I have referred it to our provider - it is too late to get it corrected in time. Hopefully the fix will be in place for S18 E2

I noticed also some episode number errors for Season 16 airing on Dave. This has also been referred to our provider

Seems there are still issues getting future data for Channel 5… any ideas when this is going to be resolved?

Hi - thanks for the update, I think Radio4 Extra is still having data issues - most of the 1st September is showing up as ‘unknown airing’. Even days with most of the shows, there are still a few ‘unknown airings’.

Appears to be a different issue from the TBA’s issue we have had for channel 5. This specific problem I suspect to be an ingestion issue and I am referring it to oue EPG data ingestion team

This is similar to the problem with channel 5 New Plex Guide Very Poor in UK - #1731 by sa2000

BBC Two airs episode 1 of the new series 4 of Frankie Boyle’s New Word Order on THU but Plex shows it as episode 5 of series 3:

Contradictingly, it marks it correctly as new airing though:

In summary it seems there are the following problems:

  • Programmes listed on Plex an hour earlier than scheduled (Almost everything that is real)
  • Programmes being cut short (The Karate Kid Part II, and Red Bull Soapbox Race)
  • Random programmes being inserted (Storage Hunters, QI, American Pickers, Cop Car Workshop and Expedition With Steve Backshall)
  • Missing episode data

I spotted this after realising that “Would I Lie to You” at 19:20 hadn’t been sequenced - little did I know I was opening a can of worms!

Whilst it is too late to do anything about this mess for today could you please report how badly today’s data for Dave is?

Edit: Having checked the rest of the week at 08:00 and 09:00 it seems the channel is an hour out in Plex. I’ve not looked for other errors as it’s taken me an hour to write this post :frowning:

I noticed the 1 hour adrift issue a few days ago and that was referred to our provider. This will get corrected in our next ingestion but i do see the other issue you mentioned still uncorrected - with several airings having shorter durations and phantom airings slotted in after them.

Is there any ETA for the issue with the Channel 5 EPG data for tomorrow (1st Sept)? There’s a new series starting at 9PM that I’d like to be able to schedule a recording for…

Same program my parents want to record and how I noticed the issue.

All I get is grief at the moment since I convinced them to move to Plex and they moved away from Gracenote. “”It used to be so easy and now I find it impossible to record what I want””.

4Music (Channel 029) is showing “4Music Programming” again from midnight tonight until Saturday 00:20:


I am also seeing periodic “Unknown Airing” for Drama (Channel 020), Ideal World (Channel 022), QVC Style (Channel 036), Blaze (Channel 063) and Hochanda (Channel 085). For Example:

Having fixed it for the last couple of days last week and yesterday, it’s now wrong again Tuesday-Friday this week and Monday-Tuesday next week. Showing The Bill at 11am rather than 12 Midday.

It’s crazy that we’re having these issues literally every week and that’s just with one programme on one channel. I’ve only recently started using Plex for TV recording but this is an untenable situation long term. I can’t be checking all my future recordings every day (they can appear correct one day and then be updated to be wrong before the broadcast) and reporting issues on a forum that sometimes get fixed in time and sometimes don’t. What’s the plan for getting these issues fixed permanently? You say these are issues with your provider, but I’d recommend you need to find a new provider before you lose all your customers. I’m paying for this service and while I appreciate your efforts personally this can’t be your long term plan for this issue surely?
