New User: Plex not finding all movies

May I suggest ?

  1. Go to the Syno (since that’s where PMS is now)

  2. Make certain force reapply permissions to all the media shared folders and files – granting PlexMediaServer permission to read them.

I suggest this because Windows knows nothing of the Synology share-level ACLs

Every time you modify a file over SMB, it gets your and only your permissions which are independent of Synolog user ‘PlexMediaServer’

BE CERTAIN TO CHECK “Apply to this folder, sub-folders and files”
