# Next TestFlight release?

Confused about when the next TestFlight release for Apple TV will be available? I’ve seen changelogs listed for the IOS/Android mobile version which includes a ton of changes for tvOS, but not seeing a new tvOS release yet?
For that matter, why are the tvOS fixes even included with the IOS/Android release notes (since its really a separate release)? Or should they all be released at the same time?

For the last releases, the Apple TV client preview was released alongside the mobile betas. It might take the usual „getting through the app store process“.

Maybe they should change the IOS/Android announcement to include tvOS then? I do see 2026.17.0 available in TF for IOS, but don’t see it for tvOS yet (still showing 2026.16.0)

My setup just updated to version 2026.17.0 (1958) — so close enough to be considered a parallel release on all platforms.
As per the default note in the official release announcement (though, not repeated in the beta thread):

The new app has issues with live tv for me. There is a new setting to force direct play but live tv still transcodes with it on.

Live tv still a mess for me. Tried to send official feedback and the email sent from Test Flight bounced back.
Tuning to a recording in progress still does not prompt to start at beginning or at live. It will start playing at the current t time but you cannot rewind past that time, even though it’s being recorded.
Watching live tv that is not being recorded does not have full and accurate control of FF and Rew. Sometimes Rew works, sometimes not. You can not always FF back all the way to live/current time.
In summary, as a DVR solution to watch programs while being recorded or time shift live tv while not being recorded, is not reliable and not usable in daily use.
