No HDR on LG OLED65C7P Plex client - what's up?

MKV remuxes of my UHD blu-rays don't trigger HDR on my LG OLED65C7P.
Video is 2160p HEVC
Format profile: Main 10@L5.1@High
Codec ID: V_MPEGH/ISO/HEVC
Color primaries: BT.2020

HDR flag is not triggered and color is unsaturated. The same file plays perfectly and triggers HDR when streamed directly from my media server to the OLED65C7P's internal streaming media player.

Any idea what's up?

yes, cause the official Plex App is a POS. Instead of DirectPlay, it either Direct Stream and/or Transcode. If it does that it kills the metadata to engage HDR

In a perfect world Everything and Everyone would handshake. In this case not so perfect, unfortunate but our world is so fractionized

Plex from my roku 4 does trigger the HDR flag and play back brilliantly on my LG OLED TV but when using the PLEX app from the LG TV store it does not playback HDR. Also does not play back from the plex home theater app installed on my MAC.

Possibly being transcoded. See my post here.

Oh man, I have no idea how I missed that post. Thanks for figuring that out. I don’t even need HDR; the LG app is broken for any HEVC inside of MKV. That’ll make life a little easier.
