Hello. I installed the Plex media server with the manual install successfully to my NAS but have no idea how to add my shared “movie” folder to the library. Many posts and online tutorials all have relevant Plex version as there is no library under the account, etc. Click on the “Your Media” just go to the plexmediaserver download page. See my screen copy below. Any comment is much appreciated.
Make sure to access the new Plex Media Server through its local IP address in order to complete the setup. It seems you’re currently using the hosted web app… which has no means to know you actually own a server (or which one that is).
http://[Syno IP address]:32400/web
During the setup you can name your server, link it to your Plex account and have an option to create your first libraries.
Once your server is linked to your Plex account you can subsequently also access it through other Plex apps signed in with your account.
Much appreciate your input. After I forward port 32400 and use your http address to login to Plex, everything works. Happay New Year.
