Not matching shows based on tvdb id numbers

The Plex scanner treats Scrubs (2001) {tvdb-76156} as the same show as Scrubs (2026) {tvdb-465690}. Showing the episodes as duplicates.

Scrubs (2026) suddenly folded into Scrubs

Seems that at some point in the last week it remapped to Scrubs in the metadata that plex uses which is causing problems with having both as they are literally called the same thing but are separate shows as this is not being considered a season 10 by anyone. So now season one episodes have two files from two different folders. How can I fix this? Why the change that doesnt seem in line with how other instances of a reboot have worked? Why the change in the last week?

I temporarily moved scrubs 2001 to Classic TV and left scrubs 2026 in regular TV, but the meta data for the new one is wrong.

Make sure you place the year in the name of the

Folder

So scrubs 2026 on the new folder and scrubs 2001 on the old folder some say that it bit I found to also remove one of them if both are on the same drive do the scan and it should correct itself

As I said, the folders were named “Scrubs (2001) {tvdb-76156}” and “Scrubs (2026) {tvdb-465690}”. At any rate, I understand that keeping up the meta data and stuff is a huge task so I just manually edited the metadata on the new series.
