# Password reset

hi all. new to the game . so i need to reset my password as my son changed it and forgot it (wow!)
i type in me email. which is [darren.paoletta@gmail.com](mailto:darren.paoletta@gmail.com) but never get a reset link from plex i’ve done this three times now and nothing… if anyone can help that would be great…manm thanks

#### Scenario 1: You’re still logged in
1. click on the account icon in the top-right corner and click sign-out
2. proceed w/ scenario #2
#### Scenario 2: You’re not logged in
1. On the login screen, lick `Continue With EMail`
2. Over the `Password` field, click `Forgot?` (on the right side between the email/username and password fields)
3. Enter your email address and click `Send Instructions`
4. Follow the instructions from the email sent to your account’s address

I will ask for investigation about this email address on the Plex email server.
Please do nothing in the meantime, particularly **don’t try to login**.
Or your account will be temporarily blocked for too many failed login attempts.

A question: have you checked your spam folder?
Those reset emails often end up in the ‘Junk’ folder.
