# Playback on some devices is not working

I have set up my plex to allow for remote access. I have set port forwarding and this is working fine for remote access on different networks to items such as smart tv’s, however I am unable to playback items on ios or an xbox outside of my network.

The devices can see the server, and all of the details regarding the file, but when they go to play, they get an error relating bandwidth, and not enough CPU for conversion. The ios device is logging in through 5G, and the xbox through a broadband connection.

I have tried deleting the apps, and redownloading. I have updated the plex app for the server, but still no success.

This has happened to me also, and my best guess for you to try is going into the app settings for the xbox on the xbox app and on the ios app and lower the quality down until the xbox or ios device can handle it.

Sometimes the 30mbps of a blue ray coming over the internet outside of your network the xbox can’t keep up. Lower down to about 10mbps or 8mbps and this should help.

Also check your server for upload speed. do you have any parameters set there?
