# Playback Speed Controls for Non-Plex Pass Users

Hi Plex team!
I noticed that playback speed controls (e.g., 0.5x, 1.5x, 2x) are currently a Plex Pass-exclusive feature. Are there any plans to make this available to all users, including those without a Plex Pass subscription?
Many media players and streaming platforms offer this functionality for free, and it would be a great quality-of-life improvement for everyone. Alternatively, could this feature be enabled for users accessing a server where the admin has Plex Pass (but not being included in a plex home with a Plex Pass)?

As you pointed out, this feature already exists.
Asking to make it available for free (in general or by extending it by a server owner’s Plex Pass) is a fair question but totally at Plex’s discretion – in the end they’re a business and have staff, infrastructure and license cost to pay.
Therefore moving this out of the feature suggestion section.
