If a video playback is resumed after being paused for several minutes or more, playback halts after a few minute or so. The video stops but the playback time continues to tick away. If not caught quickly, you will lose your place because this playback timer advancement is persisted on the server.
I’ve had this since the new player was implemented, it’s really annoying. The only work around I have for now is to never pause media and always stop it immediately. That’s not very intuitive unfortunately.
This seems to happen more often in Safari then Chrome, Chrome seems to kick off a new request when resumed from a pause whereas Safari just plays back the already buffered content until it runs out.
