# Player button missing from Plex web

Restart PMS after making the firewall adjustments.
Re-load Plex Web.
Wait a few minutes. Player discovery may take some time as it works similar to bonjour or NETBIOS SMB discovery.

I rebooted both server and client after doing the firewall changes, still no dice.

Where did you make the \*.plex.tv and \*.plex.direct changes in the browsers?

This is only if you use something like NoScript where you greenlight script execution on a by-host basis.
I surf in “paranoia mode” with NoScript enabled.
you may have to enable script execution for `localhost` and `server's private IP` as well, depending on whether you load plex web over https or http and whether you use the local or the hosted Plex Web.
Which gives me an idea: Have you tried and used the hosted version, to see if it behaves differently?

I load over http, so no SSL issues there. I’ve also tried the hosted version with the same results.

I just installed Plex server 0.9.16.6 on one of my Windows 10 machines, and if I select that test server I get the cast icon. I then upgraded it to 0.9.17.0, and it still works. This looks like a Server 2012R2 Essentials issue. Now I just have to figure out what that issue is…
