# Please add server setting convert automatically default

I was looking for a way to set convert automatically for all streams as default. There isn’t any as far as I can tell. There are users who have the appropriate equipment to play and do anything without restrictions and this would help tremendously.
I hate having to always go to the client and select that setting manually. Thanks you for the consideration. I have read in many google searches that there is an abundance of users wanting this.

This is Plexweb - as an example, but most Plex Apps have this setting wherein you would activate it - and it would be ON. Always:

Thanks for that. It isn’t always working I set maximum and I still have to use the client invocation of the convert automatically to get it to work.

The setting must be made in each Client App.
There is no Blanket Server Setting to achieve this. Unfortunately.

This should not be made to be a one way offering. We should have anything and everything available to us as it relates to this feature. Some of us don’t worry about internet connection speed and personally I do everything on a 10g network for the most part.
We need the ability to setup the server to suit our needs. 🙂

The server would need to control the clients as to starting quality. I don’t see it being a major programming event.

That suggestion is so convoluted… No wonder nothing happens. My post is way more effective at getting the suggestion out. Blanket posts get overlooked.
