I didn’t have this issue when I upgraded to 1.16.1, it appears to have come later.
31 days and counting of feature outage …
That’s it … I’m done.

Any news on when this will be fixed? having same problem, have deleted tuners but when I try to add them back in I get to the epg set up page and cant get past. Just hangs there and wont let me proceed.
Bah. This sux. Running Plex on a Shield. Had issues adding a tuner. Did the usual trick from this thread: force quit, load, quickly remove the old tuner. That worked ONLY to now find my tuner. Im in the same boat as you @Vananp - I can add the tuner but cant get past the EPG stuff!!! Its like it missing the dialogue to select the country (however it asks that in the previous page… which makes me think that it shouldnt be asking it again on this page but that param isnt getting past through from the step before:
Then this is where I get stuck:
Plex no longer provides EPG data for Australia, so you’d need to use XMLTV from a source such as freepg, or IceTV.
That’s it? Dave, please tell us Plex is working on finding root cause for why we lost our DVR’s… And btw having to re-add the recorded shows schedule freaking sucks from having to delete and re add the DVR’s…
We are not getting ANY information about this issue from Plex. If we can’t call in and talk to a technician, and have to rely on this forum for support, then we MUST get feedback and at least something to let the community know it is being worked on.
I am stuck on the version I am on, because I fear if I upgrade to the latest, I will lose my livetv, and/or recorded shows schedule AGAIN. All we have seen is TERRIBLE support from you guys. We PAY for this product now. If this is what we get from paying, then you are going to lose customers.
Hi Dave, why is plex no longer providing EPG data for Australia?
Plex changed to a different EPG data provider and unfortunately, they don’t provide EPG data for Australia.
@darcilicious Can you provide any more information on the lost DVR issue?
I just deleted and re-added my DVR. All of my scheduled recordings came back fine.
Thanks for the info hadn’t seen this
If you’re using an HDHR Homerun this thread is where you want to post and follow; you may be given access to a patched release that could possibly resolve the issue.
Note you will need to generate logs, etc. per that post.
Sorry, take that back. I’ve a host of new recording problems now. It hasn’t successfully recorded anything since re-adding DVRs.
I checked to see if something recorded last night, and it said “cannot record things in the past”. I went to home to see if it was on the deck, nope. Went back to recordings and everything in the past has disappeared, including the latest one with the odd error message.
This really is a mess.
You have to delete and re-add the recordings for them to work again. They stay after you re-add the DVR but they don’t work anymore. I assume because the program ID has changed with the new EPG data.
Confirmed this fixes when running on Windows Server 2016 as well.
Can you provide a bit more specific information about what you’re seeing, as well as server version, platform, and logs?
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, this was a brand new programme scheduled to record that failed.
Plex Media Server 1.16.4.1469 is available in the Beta update channel
Possible fix? in the release notes:
- Fix for deadlock when deleting DVR that could not be upgraded to Cloud EPG. (#10358)
I saw the scheduled recordings like you state, but it seems like they were not tied to the guide. Every one of the recordings said no upcoming shows. even though I could clearly see in the guide there were new airings. The three red circles stating a series recording also never showed up on any of them. Only until I went in and re-added them again.
