yeah… thats my point man… they are not seen as seperate tuners… its one box with 2 tuners that plex treats as one … only one list of channels… it says tuner with 2 channels but does not treat them independently

Early testing of 1.8.3 looks pretty successful.
I have not had any failed recordings or failed encodings and also no locked tuners.
It’s early, but 1.8.3 looks promising.
Regrettably, 1.8.3 started exhibiting the same behavior as 1.8.1 after a few hours.
I have reinstalled and tested every version back to 1.6.1.
If anyone in Plex Dev wants, I have the following for each point release saved at the time Plex was exhibiting the errors
so to be clear I have this for the following versions of plex who all exhibit recording, stuck tuners, encoding and crashing issues:
1.7.0
1.7.1
1.7.2
1.7.3
1.7.4
1.8.1
1.8.3
There ought to be some data and info in there you dev guys could use to finally track this down and fix it.
1.6.1 is rock solid and runs for weeks at a time with no issues.
Same issues as dagrilla…
Plex 1.8.1(x86), Synology 416play, HDHR Connect UK (latest firmware)
Oddly, but similarly, all seemed to be recording fine for a couple of days upon purchase, until I noticed (foolishly) that the HDHR firmware had an update available… all went pear shaped after that (coincidence or not). Recordings were just coming through partially (5-6 minutes on average) although the schedule was saying 100% complete. The same applied for transcoded or not. Weirdly, recordings set whilst I was actually using the Plex web app, and I was logged in watching them physically record, worked it seemed. But if I set a recording in the evening or early in the morning and wasn’t logged into the server, failure. A roll back to 1.6.1(64bit) has offered nigh on perfect, solid recordings, but I miss the ability to schedule recordings via my iPhone, which was a feature from 1.7.2 I believe, which is a bit of an irritant
Going to steer clear of 1.8.3
Installed 1.8.4 this morning.
Same exact issues as noted above for all versions from 1.7 to now 1.8.4
I have backed up all logs, caches, grab, application support and screenshot of interface for 1.8.4 now as well. So I have a full set of files for autopsy for all versions exhibiting this bug from 1.7.0 to 1.8.4.
Once again reverting to 1.6.1.
Also, did note one new “issue” with 1.8.4. It seems you can not delete an episode of a show from the iOS client. Very useful feature when your DVR is producing broken, unplayable and partial episodes. Just delete from the client and go about your day. With 1.8.4, not anymore.
I’m having a lot of the same problems and I find it completely intolerable that we’re left to a forum where we have to give each other tech support for any solution. I really am starting to think I’d rather just get a refund, since I sunk money into an antenna and a tuner based on Plex’s slick marketing materials, and go back to cable TV.

Take a look at Channels app if it supports the hardware devices you use to view live media.
