Plex Addon on Kodi doesn't work

Hi. I'm having major issues with Plex Addon on Kodi. The Addon version is 0.1.3 with Kodi version being 17.6 running on Mint 18.2 machine. When I get into Plex on Kodi, the plugin is not able to connect to my online servers. Even if it does, it doesn't show any of the movie thumbnails. When I try to play a movie, it either goes blank or throws an error saying something like Plex playback failed. The Plex server I'm trying to run is 1.9.6.xxx, running on a Linux Mint 18.2 machine too.

Attached are the relevant Kodi logs, screenshots and inxi details of the machine.

Have you tried to optimize your database?

Hi, thanks for your response and sorry for the delayed response from my side. Optimizing the database didn't help

Anyone has any ideas on how to fix this issue?

I have exactly the same issue, addon 0.1.3, kodi 17.6, from ubuntu 16.04 lts release, is this a linux issue?, which ubuntu version is mint 18.2 based on?

All Mint 18.x versions are based on Ubuntu 16.04

Hi,

role back to older serverversion help for me:

Here is the post: LINK

Is this is still an issue, please follow:

And post your client logs and also the PMS logs zip. We need both to see what the issue is, since it’s not reproducible for myself or the dev.

Just got stung by this issue. Kodi 17.6 and Plex aren’t working nicely together. My shield device can be seen and video’s played but the main server “PC” can’t connect to Plex.

Is there an easy fix?

Hi, I rolled back the version of PMS to 1.9.7.x as per suggestions in this thread, with 1.0.3 being the Plex Plugin in Kodi. That didn’t help. Then got back to the latest PMS version(1.10.1.4602) and then upgraded the Plex plugin in Kodi to the test build(1.0.4 I guess). The issue still persists. Attached are the logs from PMS and Kodi with screenshots of the issue. Please help.

Looking at the logs, I was able to resolve the issue partially. I disabled Secure Connections on the PMS Server’s Network settings and I’m able to play movies. But, my movie listing doesn’t show movie thumbnails or images or artwork. Attached is a screenshot and the corresponding logs.

There’s SSL issues on the version of Linux Mint you’re running:
01:36:01.268 T:140063967008512 NOTICE: script.plex: API: ERROR: Request failed https://72-66-71-46.45a871f04c1b4f3487b9f153eb3c5cce.plex.direct:11325/ - AsyncHTTPSConnectionPool(host=‘72-66-71-46.45a871f04c1b4f3487b9f153eb3c5cce.plex.direct’, port=11325): Max retries exceeded with url: / (Caused by SSLError(SSLError(“bad handshake: SysCallError(-1, ‘Unexpected EOF’)”,),))

I don’t know how to fix it, but others in this forum might, search around.
