Plex Server in WD MyCloudEx2Ultra. Newest update.
My Bose speaker doesn’t seem to “get along” with Plex. No Plex playlists or genres are available in the Bose speaker. I can only play 1 album at time through the Bose Soundtouch IV speaker.
Does anyone have any insight on this behaviour?
There isn’t a Plex app for Bose speakers. Are you using some sort of DLNA client to stream to those speakers?
I am trying just about anything to stream to the Bose speaker. Your answer at least confirms my fear that Plex and Bose just don’t talk to each other very well. I can only stream 1 album at a time.
There is an embedded DLNA service on the MyCloud NAS. I will enable it to see if I get any progress.
Just for my information, what wireless speaker systems works with Plex? I am beginning to think that my Bose purchase was a very expensive mistake.
Thanks for your help. I am in way over my head.
Casting to speakers is only supported from our mobile apps. You need a Plex Pass to cast to Sonos. You do not need a Plex Pass to cast to Google Chromecast and AirPlay supported devices. You can also playback music on Amazon Echo devices but that’s done by talking to the device itself, you cannot cast to them from within a Plex client.
