Just add **PLEX** and [LETTERBOXD](https://letterboxd.com/) integration/sync … that would be the ultimate pair/feature IMHO.

Plex could evolve far beyond being just a media server/player into a **cinephile hub** that connects personal media collections with social discovery and curation. Here’s what could be done:

What Plex Could Do with Letterboxd Integration

### 1. **Seamless Watchlist Sync**

- Any film you add to your **Letterboxd watchlist** would appear inside Plex as a highlighted “to watch” entry.

- Plex could instantly show you: _“This title is already in your library”_ or _“Stream available on [service].”_

### 2. **Unified Watch History**

- Watching a film in Plex would automatically log it in **Letterboxd** :

### 3. **Smart Discovery**

- Plex could pull Letterboxd data to recommend:

### 4. **Social Layer Inside Plex**

- On each Plex title page, you’d see:

- You could rate or log films directly without leaving Plex.

### 5. **Collection Management & Curation**

- Plex could auto-tag your library with **Letterboxd metadata** : genres, moods, eras, themes.

- Automatic collections generated from Letterboxd lists:

### 6. **Statistics & Year in Review**

- Plex could show the same type of analytics Letterboxd offers, but tailored to your actual playback:

### 7. **Extra Materials & Reviews**

- Plex could surface external content linked to Letterboxd entries:

If you wish for a content provider to be be a partner and integrate with us you should contact that provider and suggest they [contact us](https://www.plex.tv/contact/?option=partners). If they are able to both legally and technically have their service integrate into our product we would happy to explore how to potentially integrate their service

This is a great idea. Currently I resort to using a script to get my letterboxed ratings in Plex, and I have to log it manually in Letterboxed.

Having Letterboxd ratings shown in Plex would already be a great improvement over tmeb and IMDb. Letterboxd has more ratings on any movie compared to IMDB, making it the leading platform these days. Tmdb has never been very significant in terms of users and ratings.

The topic quoted above seems to be more about content providers. A partnership with Letterboxd is something quite else and would improve both platforms.

Would also welcome this fully as a big letterboxd fan.

For OP - in case you didn’t know, there is a letterboxd list to plex collection script as part of Kometa. It can break sometimes when letterboxd changes its html headers, I’m not sure if that’s because letterboxd doesn’t publish its APIs or it just costs money to access them.

I found this tool when I was looking for some sort of letterboxd integration.

> **[GitHub - treysu/letterboxd-plex-sync: Tool to sync Letterboxd user data (watched status,...](https://github.com/treysu/letterboxd-plex-sync/)**
>
> Tool to sync Letterboxd user data (watched status, ratings, etc.) with a Plex Library

Note that it’s not really a direct sync, it’s an export from one and import to the other.

It’s not the integration you’re looking for, but it does copy data from one place to the other. So it might be enough for the time being.

So this REALLY needs to be a thing. Plex has only relatively recently been trying to build a community but I’ve been using Letterboxd since before this was a thing on Plex…and Plex ratings in that regard are relatively new too. LATELY though the new thing is that after I watch a movie Plex always notifies me to post a rating/review and I may give it a star review but I type nothing in the actual review because I’ve already posted my review to Letterboxd so it’s annoying if I’m expected to post it twice.

What’s needed is this. Cut the crap and stay within plex.

If you have Tautulli, I made this app to export data from Tautulli and easily upload it to Letterboxd

> **[GitHub - macokay/tautulli-letterboxd: Export your Plex movie watch history from...](https://github.com/macokay/tautulli-letterboxd)**
>
> Export your Plex movie watch history from \[Tautulli\](https://tautulli.com/) as a CSV file ready to import into \[Letterboxd\](https://letterboxd.com/import/).
