Plex Android "app isn't responding for 1 minute on startup" [VIDEO included]

About 2 months ago, I noticed that my Plex Android app would bog down on startup... it takes about 80 seconds for the server content to show with a message "App isn't responding... REPORT? WAIT?" I choose WAIT, and then it shows up. How can I troubleshoot this? Android, Marshmallow, Samsung Note 4 (Canada). (Happens both on cellular and home on Wifi).

Having the exact same issue. Uninstalling and reinstalling does alleviate the issue temporarily, but then it's right back to the problem.

I have the same issue on a Samsung 8. Any clues to correct it would be appreciated.

I have exactly the same problem, and it has been there for quite a while - had it on Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, and now on Galaxy Note 8.

where do you want me to send the logs? :smile:

just adding that I’ve been having similar issues on my Oneplus 3 for a few months now.
1 startup
2 nothing seems to happen for a while
3 ‘no response’ message from android
4 choose ‘wait’
5 dashboard/stuff shows up.

will grab some logs later.

logs attached. can’t really seem to replicate the issue, sometimes stuff shows up after a while, sometimes I get the android system message first.

Just bumped into this post. Seconded all the symptom by @mickeldaelmans and @stansoltz

I’ve 2x note 8s, 1x note 4, 1x Samsung Tab… ALL exhibiting the same issue…

1 startup
2 nothing seems to happen for a while
3 ‘no response’ message from android
4 choose ‘wait’
5 dashboard/stuff shows up.

Please PLEX, FIX this!

Some questions to help figure this out;

  • How many servers do you have access too?
  • Are you on wifi or cellular?
  • Is your connection to your main server, strong?
  • Do you have a lot of devices on the same network, or on your Plex account?
  • Do you synced content on the devices where this happens, if so, do you have a lot or a little?

Hi,

  • 1 server
  • Wifi and Cellular - both have same problem
  • very strong
  • i have alot of devices on my network, yes - but performance is excellent -8 devices on my account.
  • no synced content.
