# Plex App updated - Apple TV

I was using Plex on the Apple TV last night only to discover the app had been updated with the modern look on the interface. Since I have a created a folder which contains all the movies as boxset, the idea was to be able to view them as collections. Now I’m having to select the folder, click on collections tab unlike before it remembered the last tab which was later removed as a feature on the new app. I must admit that I’m not impressed when companies make radical change without giving the option to the consumer. Is anyone in favour of the new app??

Given the new-experience apps share the same user interface, this feature suggestion should apply to your use case too.

I also have some suggestions on the new Apple TV APP.
When I go to my music library it comes up with Recommended, I don’t like that at all I have it set to albums, and I have to make an extra step to get there. And then once there I always do shuffle and now I have to click more and then click shuffle, several extra steps that shouldn’t be needed. When I go to music I would just like it to come up with my albums view and shuffle should be right there on the top.

In the Plex app on your Apple TV, navigate to Settings → Experience. Set the default view to “Browse.” That will put you into the Library view for whatever library you select instead of “Recommended.”

Okay, in general I don’t mind the refresh but I do have two major a one minor issues. I kinda hope I’m just overlooking something but please someone just help me out here.
1. I live in Germany but I have always used PLEX in English on all my devices including the Apple TV. This new version just automatically set itself to German and I cannot find an option to change the language. Am I just missing something here?
2. For the longest time I was able to delete files directly in the Apple TV app. This option too seems to have disappeared!? Do I really have to go back to the computer to delete files.
3- Not a big deal but the PLEX app used to show like a shelf with current shows and movies. Now it’s just the PLEX logo!? Kinda boring.
I’d really appreciate any kind of help with the first two. Thanks.

IIRC, this is still available but somewhat hidden in an item’s context menu (if memory serves, it’s under context menu \> manage; I’ve disabled the delete option, hence I cannot verify for you).

There seems to be a bug with some users. The top shelf is still there and working for many… the latest beta mentions a fix but I gave yet to see a confirmation if it works.

Wow, this is really hidden now. Used to be you just press on the video or on the three dots and there is the option to delete.
There is a word in German, it is “verschlimmbessern”. It roughly means making something worse while trying to improve it. This new version kinda feels like that.
Anyway, I managed to find both features even though the ‘delete’ options requires more steps now. And I guess the shelf issue will be fixed at some point.
