Plex app v1.05 won't start on PS4 (v6.02)

Hi all,

I have experienced a strange problem. After updating the Plex app on my PS4 to v.1.05, the app won’t open. The Plex logo appears, then disappears and then the wheel on the screen starts turning. Several reddit-posts suggest that the app on PS4 is slow after update, so I thought maybe it just needed some minutes to start up. Alas, after an hour the wheel still turns and turns and turns and…

The only way to get the app up and running is to uninstall the Plex app, reinstall it and re-link it to my account. But I must admit it is a bit tiresome to do this every single time I want to use the app.

Is there anyone out there with a similar problem? I haven’t been able to find anything useful in the logs, but then again, technically it isn’t a crash, so maybe that’s why the server isn’t logging one?

I have exactly same problem.
Please, how can I fix it? Is there any way to downgrade Plex app version?

At this point it can only be corrected by switching the system to English. We wait when they fix it.

I am having the same issue. Since the update it just wont work. Really thought this would have been addressed by now.

Same exact problem. Only fix is to uninstall and re link account. Very annoying.

The update is now rolling out to users. Please kill the app and restart it to make sure you’re loading the newest version, and let us know if it helps.

Has the latest ps4 Plex app been released globally? The latest version I can download in Australia is still 1.05 and I still get the original issue posted by OP.
