Hi, I have added the seires Tih Minh (1918), tt0009701 according to IMDB, to my series collection, with its 12 episodes. Plex doesn’t recognize it. Can you please help me? Thanks a lot. Regards, ---

Have you added this to a Movies or a TV Show library? I ask because you mention series and the IMDB entry you mention is a 7 hr movie. There is an entry for this move on TMDB. [Tih Minh](https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/82476-tih-minh) You should add this to a Movie library The TMDB ID is 82476 I just added this as a test to my Movies library. Hi, thanks a lot. unfortunately, it is a series, probably ahead of its time, but it is divided into 12 episodes. I fear there is not a way to make that fit into Plex series, am I right? Thanks for your help, regards. ---

Oh, I was afraid you were going to say that. ☹ If you are going to add it as a series, I think you have 2 options. I have not found it on any sites as a bunch of “episodes”. I mean, who wants to watch a 7 hr movie? Lol! You could just add it as a series but you will need to edit the show/episodes for the correct names, posters, etc. I’ve done that in the past. I’d suggest adding a new entry to TMDB with the episodes, but I suspect that would be deleted after awhile. They are picky. You could explore adding nfo files for the series, but still without an entry for that in the major media database, you’ll still be doing a lot of hand editing (I think) As they say, you are kind of between a rock and a hard place here. I’d go with option one as that is probably the easier option. I don’t know if you plan to watch and delete or keep it around as a permanent library addition. That may drive how much work you want to put into it. ---

I mean, even if you go only by the ridiculous playing time, it should be clear that this is actually a series. Honest question but how could something from 1918 be a series ? This was shown in theatres as a set of films. That and other films of the era [serial films](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_film) later where re-packaged for modern media calling them series. But ultimately, when created they where films. ---

So many titles were initially created for the cinema, often to be shown before or after the main feature. But at their heart they were series. (or were made into proper series if they turned out popular) If it’s a series, it can be called “TV show” in Plex. Don’t get hung up on the “TV” in its name. The real difference is “episodic” vs. “one-off”. ---

As you said, I used another version, a complete one with all the episodes in one file. I want to add the episodes, one by one, as extras. So I placed all the files (video and subtitles) in a folder called Extras, with each file in it named as I would if they were part of a series…S01E01 name, etc. Plex doesn’t recognize anything of that. Try naming them like this. I added this to my Movies library and this is a listing of my Tih Minh folder ```auto s01e01-short.mp4 s01e04-short.mp4 s01e07-short.mp4 s01e10-short.mp4 'Tih Minh (1918).mp4' s01e02-short.mp4 s01e05-short.mp4 s01e08-short.mp4 s01e11-short.mp4 s01e03-short.mp4 s01e06-short.mp4 s01e09-short.mp4 s01e12-short.mp4 ``` ---
