[PMP](https://forums.plex.tv/categories/plex-media-player/p1#top "PMP") is also available for the RasPi3.
Use the image for the Raspberry Pi 2.

The folks over at the [Rasplex board](https://forums.plex.tv/categories/rasplex/p1#top "Rasplex board") are quite helpful. You should ask for thoughts on the erroneous behaviour of your Pi3 there too.
It could very well be, that your issues are caused by a wonky power adapter or an unsuitable/counterfeit SD card.
Which would then gain you similar results when you try PMP on the device.
