# Plex data location on windows server

Where is the database located from Plex on a Windows Server 2019 ?

It has no `%LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server` in the user directory ??

It definitely does exist.

`%LOCALAPPDATA%` is a shortcut to `C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local`

Keep in mind that the `Users` folder is hidden by default.  
And maybe you are looking in the wrong `<username>` subfolder? If you are running Plex server under a different Windows user account, its data will be stored within this user’s data folder.
