# Plex displays "Error" on startup. No other text

Windows 10 PC, Intel(R) Core™ i7-7700 CPU @ 3.60GHz, 64Gb RAM.  
Plex errors on start. UNINSTALLED server, cleared APPDATA folder. REinstalled SERVER, same error.

It’s impossible to search for this, the only entry I found similar said to do the steps I’d already taken.

Can’t give you version numbers as Plex doesn’t start, but latest install was November 10 2021 version.

Did you also delete the registry branch? [https://support.plex.tv/articles/201941078-uninstall-plex-media-server/](https://support.plex.tv/articles/201941078-uninstall-plex-media-server/)

Close and quit every other software you may have running, in particular personal firewall, VPN, or Torrent client software. Then try and start PMS again.  
If this works, re-enable each piece of software one-by-one until you have found the culprit.

This did it, brilliant, thanks for the advice 🙂

Now to rebuild libraries LOL

I am having the same issue and have done all the clearing uninstalling and installing and I still get the error. It was working just fine then it was not.
