Plex does not start on Asustor Nimbustor 2 AS5202T.
Plex Server Version#: 1.18.6.2368-97add474d
Asustor Nimbustor 2: ADM version 3.4.6.RDF3
Hi
Last night I was watching a video via my Plex server on Asustor Nimbustor 2 AS5202T which I’ve been using for months without any problems. Suddenly Plex was unavailable (while other applications on my NAS functioned without problems). So I first tried to restart my server, but I couldn’t open Plex anymore via devices on my network.
So I uninstalled it on my NAS and installed the new Plex version via App Central (1.18.6), again without success . So I also upgraded the ADM version of the NAS to the newest version, unfortunately again without success.
Plex doesn’t seem to start anymore. When I click the Plex Icon via the webinterface of Asustor, it simply redirects me to a page saying “This site can’t be reached. [server IP] refused to connect.”
When I click on the Activity Monitor in the Asustor Web interface, under processes, I cannot see a Plex application running.
Also put this on the Asustor help forum, as I have no idea which of the two is the problem.
I’ve tried updating manually to Plex version 1.18.7.2438-f342a5a43 as well, but this doesn’t help - it doesn’t seem to start.
I was just searching on the forum before installing this update myself. I was horrified by the trouble peoiple are having across all platforms. They all seem to report that downgrading solves things.
I’m sticking with the version in App Central - 1.18.6.2368 - for now. Can you just reinstall that version?
I’m assuming you manually updated Plex in App Central from a downloaded .apk. That’s what I had been planning. App Central denies there is an update for me at the moment - I only see it offered in Plex server.
If you open App Central in ADM, then go to My apps->Installed, you can delete the current version, and then download the supported version from Browse-> All Apps. That should give you v1.18.6.2368 back, shouldn’t it?
Hi, no I updated via the App Central initially.
When that didn’t work I indeed tried manually as well, but both versions (1.18.6 and 1.18.7) don’t work for me. … So before, I had an older version that was working fine.
I’ve downgraded back to Plex Server Version#: 1.18.6.2368-97add474d now.
But still it doesn’t open / start …
In other words, the problem is probably not the most recent Plex update. Maybe something is wrong with the NAS, however all other applications are running fine as always. Really have no idea where to start with this one …
