# Plex does not update correctly.

As per the attached picture, I was running PMS 1.4.2.3400 and clicking on on “check for updates” indicated it was up to date.

I just happened to try online and it seems the latest version is 1.9.1.4272.

I had to manually download and update the PMS.

Any idea what is going on?

You didn’t state your OS, but, 1.4.3 lists as a “FIX” - MacOS automatic updates from 1.4.2 were failing.

Though I couldn’t see any other OS mentioned, it’s possible 1.4.2 had issues on others.
