Server Version#: 1.40.4.8679 Player Version#: 4.132.2 I tried to add the Movie Scream (1996). The upload works but i can’t find it in the library. I tried following movie names: Scream (1996) Scream (1996) {imdb-tt0117571} Scream (1996) {tmdb-4232} I can upload other movies without any problems. Do you have any idea what the problem could be? Thank you guys ---

I hope you did not put it with other “scream” movies into a common subfolder? Disable automatic and periodic library updates in Plex. Thank you otto for your fast reply. I create an individual folder for each film in which there is only the respective film. I tried the method you described but it still doesn’t add the movie to the library. Do you have another solution suggestion? Many thanks in advance ---

The file as such does play in a desktop video player like VLC etc? ---

Yes, the file does play with VLC and other media players. It’s a normal .mp4-file. Is there an option to add a file to the library manually? ---

Open the “Library” tab of your movie library enable the Duplicates filter Are there any? If so, inspect the file names in their [Plex media info](https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201998867-Investigate-Media-Information-and-Formats). See if the file of Scream was erroneously added to a different movie. * * * Another good test would be to change the sorting order of the library to Release date or Year. Then scroll down to 1996. Does the movie now suddenly show? If it does, it might have been added to a collection. And either your library or the collection have been set to hide movies from the general list, if they are part of the collection. When I sorted for duplicates, I found the movie Scary Movie. I then added the IMDB code to the Scary Movie file and uploaded the movie Scream again. Scream was then added to the library and no duplicates were found. I am still a bit surprised why Scream and Scary Movie were found as duplicates, since the first parts were released in different years. However the problem is solved. Thank you very much. ---
