I have some old time radio MP3 downloaded from Internet Archive. Plex does not appear to recognize them. I have just installed Plex on my W10 PC and am accessing it from Echo. It works fine for mp3 from commercial cds, but does not appear to recognize these. Since this is the main reason I got Plex, it is rather frustrating. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
I’m guessing those downloads don’t have embedded metadata, and the online databases where Plex gets that data don’t have it. Probably the best you can do is edit the embedded metadata yourself using an editor such as MP3Tag.
I’ve spent years avoiding the whole metadata concept with MP3. I guess I’ll have to bite the bullet and dive in. Thanks for your ideas.
