Hello, Sorry if this has been answered before but I can’t seem to find it anywhere in the forums. Does anyone know if the Plex app on Xbox One connects to my local media server via my local network or if it has to pass through the internet? I have a limited download speed and want to make sure this will work over the local network. I know the Android and Windows apps can be used on the local network. I’m just unsure as to how this works for the Xbox One. Thank you ---

Yes, it plays via your local network. The reason for the remote access to be enabled is for 1) Check Plex Pass status, 2) the Xbox One doesn’t give the ability to browse the local network for your server so it hits [plex.tv](http://plex.tv) which store both the local and remote addresses for your servers. These are small requests and shouldn’t affect your data quota. ---
