# Plex grabbing the wrong episode ordering from TheTVDB

Hello all,

Having a weird issue where Plex is getting the episode ordering from TheTVDB mixed up for a show in my library. My files for this show are organized according to its DVD order, so when I added it to my library I set the ordering as such. But Plex reflects “TheTVDB (DVD)” as the aired order. Curious, I switched it to Aired, and sure enough, it showed the episodes as the originally intended DVD order. I find this very strange! It’s only happening for the one show as far as I know, though.

Did you look this up at the TVDB to see what they actually list?

Blue Mountain State. and yes, I did look it up on TheTVDB to see if it was an issue with their ordering—it wasn’t, definitely on the Plex end.

The aired order and the DVD order is exactly the same on TVDB

The only difference between the two is the DVD order doesn’t include the 5 episodes they list as Specials

You’re just looking at the number of episodes. S03E01 and E02 are swapped if you compare Aired and DVD. My issue being “Dick Picks” and “The Captain” show as Episodes 1 and 2, respectively, when DVD is selected, when they should show as Episodes 2 and 1.

I did look through all the episodes but I didn’t notice those two were swapped

It appears as though the orders got swapped. If you set it to the TVDB (aired) you get the DVD order and if you set it to the DVD order you get the (aired) order

Just leave it as the default aired order and you’ve got the correct order you want

This is caused by tmdb having the wrong external ids to tvdb for these episodes. I have fixed these up `https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/31941-blue-mountain-state/season/3/episode/1/changes` and `https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/31941-blue-mountain-state/season/3/episode/2/changes` but it’ll take anything between 24-72 hours for the plex backend cache to pickup the change.
