So why is now necessary to click “Sign In” multiple times to get into the server on my Mac? Plex used to be easy to use, now it is just plain annoying!

Would you mind elaborating what exactly you’re experiencing and how you get to that point?

After I log in, I have to click 4X to get to my Libraries. I am going to give Jellyfin a try because I am losing my patience with Plex.

If the 4 clicks are to enter your pin code, goto Settings-\>Account click on Automatically Sign In.

The clicks are not to enter my PIN. There are literally 4 “sign in” requests I have to click before I can get to my library.

</div>

Wow that would be annoying. I don’t have a mac, so I don’t follow those threads as closely but I don’t recall others reporting the same thing.

</div>

Maybe you can clarify… with what exact player app are experiencing this (platform, version)?
I haven’t seen any reports requiring multiple sign-ins on the same session.

</div>

I’m guessing you mean 2x, you go to [plex.tv](http://plex.tv), have to click on “my media” if you are already signed in, then it’s still not your media yet you have to click on “open app” once in my media and then you are finally in plex proper. Too many clicks and I agree, its annoying and just low value crap to click through.

</div>

Does that get you to [app.plex.tv/Desktop](http://app.plex.tv/Desktop)? If so, why not just bookmark that location?

<div class="post-metadata">

</div>

So to clarify, I will give you all the details of my experience.

1. I go to the saved Bookmark in my Firefox Browser. (1 Click) [[https://watch.plex.tv/\](https://watch.plex.tv/%5C)]
2. Click Sign In, Use Saved Credentials in Password Manager, then Two-Factor window pops up, enter code from Authenticator app, Click Sign In
3. Click My Media
4. Click Open App
5. Click Sign In
6. Plex Web Window Opens, I have to Click Sign In again
7. Then I get to click More to see my Libraries

So that is 7 clicks to get to my libraries, tell me that is not annoying and necessary. Like I said I am going to try Jellyfin.

</div>

Two suggestions (neither of them new, both mentioned above):

1. Bookmark [https://app.plex.tv](https://app.plex.tv) instead of [https://watch.plex.tv](https://watch.plex.tv) (that will eliminate steps 2-4, taking you straight to the app).
2. Configure Plex web to automatically sign in:
[https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/web/general](https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/web/general)

In this way, future openings of the app should only need one step: Click the bookmark for [https://app.plex.tv](https://app.plex.tv).

</div>

Yes, I have been doing this for many years. Two other suggests to add.

1. A non default Browser and add to the `Dock`
2. Create: [app.plex.tv/desktop](http://app.plex.tv/desktop) as your `Home Page` in that browser.

This is IMHO the best way to have PMS set up on a Mac

</div>

Yet another one: if this is your personal machine, tell the web browser to NOT delete the cookies set by \*.plex.tv when it’s closed.
That way you will only have to log in every few _months._

SE56 thank you but I do not want that to be my Home Page. I have SpeedDial as my homepage and that is what I prefer.

OttoKerner, thanks for the suggestion on saving the cookies, I will see if I am able to do that but, I do have Firefox erase everything when I close the browser for security so I’m not sure I will be able to configure that.

I use an add-on in Firefox to define exceptions from the general “delete everything” policy, which I use as well. (I think you have to, nowadays.)

this sounds suspiciously like the issue i was reporting here:

Click “Home”? Select User. Click a Library? Select User. Click a movie with that Library? Select User. Click Settings? Select User. Click another setting page? Select User. It’s… getting a bit exhausting. I vaguely feel like this started d…
