# Plex HTPC Support for older Windows Versions

Some users such as me still utilize Windows 7 for it’s Media Center functionality in my HTPC setup along with Plex. Is there any way that older OS’s such as Win7 and 8.1 can use basic functionality of the HTPC client app? Will this functionality ever be added?

You can try to use the old [Plex Media Player](https://forums.plex.tv/t/plex-media-player/120475/last)  
But there won’t be all features available/some media may be missing.

Another step behind that may be to use Kodi in conjunction with the [Plex plugin](https://forums.plex.tv/t/testers-needed-plex-for-kodi-kodi-19-compatibility/481208/1).
