Plex incorrectly matching a recorded show

One of the shows I record using Plex DVR is “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” (an improvisational comedy show). But when I record them, the seasons are incorrectly matched. You see, “Whose Line” started out as a UK show, and was broadcast for 8 seasons. After that, The CW (a US television network) brought back the show from season 9 onward. My DVR channel guide doesn’t reflect the 8 seasons before the CW revival, so season 9 is considered season 1, and so on and so forth. The problem is, when Plex organizes the episodes after they’re recorded, it takes the original seasons into effect, so season 14 (the latest season) airings are labeled as season 5 by the recording software, and are sorted under the original season 5, causing incorrect thumbnails, titles, descriptions, etc. I was wondering if there was any way to fix this.

Short Story -
In researching to try to help you, I’m not sure there is any automatic way to fix this challenge.
Until TheTVDB uses ‘correct’ season naming for the newest remake, or until Plex finds a better TVshow metadata source where there’s not as much garbage in/garbage out, you’ll have to rename your shows manually to season 13E## according to my links below.
TheTVDB volunteers too often do NOT follow the ‘industry’ way of doing things. It’s volunteers name it what we often see as making sense. You and I might see all the remakes as new seasons. Unfortunately, the industry does not.

Long story-
IMDB, and CW, and the program guide source for CW all state WLIIA are in season 5 as new.
The program guide itself for me (Gracenote) when I just searched for WLIIA states Season5 E9 & E5 are coming up Aug 10.
So technically, according to the crazy way the show keeps being re-invented, you’re on season 5 and Plex is doing exactly what it’s supposed to according to the naming from the EPG data.
You aren’t really in Season 13 according to the remakes. They’ve re-invented the wheel for each one.
Now, to add to the challenge.
After the file gets named (from the EPG), Plex uses multiple info sources to grab metadata.
One of it’s default favorites is thetvdb.com. Which IMO has always been a piss poor choice because it’s not a commercial entity. TheTVDB.com is a community driven repository of show data. That’s unfortunate, because it’s often incorrectly matched to shows like this that have multiple remakes, Unlike gracenote selling itself as a metadata warehouse commercially with a bit more proofing.
According to theTVDB, there are three different series. One english (id 76808), one UK(), and one Australian.
According to TheTVDB, you’re actually in season 13 if matched by names of show stars.
(So aug 10 e9 would be Tony Cav… http://thetvdb.com/?tab=episode&seriesid=76808&seasonid=702618&id=6217690&lid=7 , and E5 would be Wil Wheat… http://thetvdb.com/?tab=episode&seriesid=76808&seasonid=702618&id=6144632&lid=7 )
But Plex grabs season # and then episode #, so, it’s picking up season 5 from IMDB
E9 will be http://thetvdb.com/?tab=episode&seriesid=76808&seasonid=11455&id=216308&lid=7 )

Air dates and show names seem to match this list, so, manually rename them S13E##
