- Where your media is stored (e.g. internal drive): **External Hard Drive**

- The PlexConnect version number (or if using Github source then a time and date of download; look at the creation date of the folder): **06th June 1:42pm**

- A **detailed description of the issue** (the clearer you can make this the better):

When I click on Trailers App on apple tv, it still comes up with Trailers. It doesn't show the Plex Interface. I currently have DNS set to Wireless DNS, but I have also tried connecting Apple TV on ethernet and using the ethernet DNS. It made no difference

- A log file (currently this is the output in your terminal/cmd window - we are looking to generate a separate log file):

I'm not a pro but I had the same issue. Try to set the DNS of your atv to 10.0.0.2

Thanks Kevin. The only way to configure the DNS on the Apple TV is to put it back on ethernet, so I tried that and changed the DNS to 10.0.0.2, however it now just comes up saying "accessing trailers" and after a while says "Trailers is unavailable, try again later". 10.0.0.2 is the ip address of the wifi, all the instructions say to put the dns server in the settings.py file, the dns server on wireless is 10.0.0.1

aTV's DNS has to point to PlexConnect - in your case 10.0.0.2.

I have made this change but it now says Trailers is not available try again later. Any idea what is causing this?

Is port 80 being used by another service? That's what happened on mine. It was conflicting with SABnzb so I had to change SABnzb's port number.

I am getting a little closer. I took wifi out of the mix, so PlexConnect is now on IP 94.203.161.89. I updated the settings.py to reference this IP and manually configured atv to have dns server of 94.203.161.89.

It now comes up with PlexConnect but says there is no response from the Plex Media Server.

ccocker,

Would you mind posting your settings.py file? I'm running into the same issue, but it looks like you're using an external IP to your PlexMedia and PlexConnect server -- 94.203.161.89? It's my understanding that it can/should be a local IP. I'm close -- I'm getting PlexConnect listening on port 80 -- but, I don't see any traffic when I open Trailers on ATV3.

Thanks,

-Ken

Just out of curiosity. Why can't you change the DNS on the aTV when on wifi?

When I go into ATV Network Settings there is no Configure DNS option. this only appears when I am on an ethernet connection. I assumed that was standard and it was not possible to change. Is there another way to do it

Sure on firmware 5.2.1.

Go into settings/general/network/wifi/yourwifi configuration/ scroll down to configure dns. Select manual. Change DNS number to your plexconnect server and click done.

If you have the option to use hard wired though do so, it may save you a lot of other headaches.
