Plex Media Server running on Synology NAS DSM 6.2
TV Tuner: HD HOMERUN Quadro
Apple iOSPlayer Version#: 2025.20.0 (1153)

Recent versions of the app for iPhone and iPad will play Live TV video via HD HOMERUN + Synology NAS Plex Media Server , BUT NO audio. This used to work fine.

All forums state the obvious, to turn up the volume on iPhone, but there is no audio at all. I have checked Transcoding on the Plex Media Server advanced settings, but can not find where to change audio format that would work for apple mobile devices.

Audio works fine with Plex Channels Live TV on Plex app.

So for several versions of the iOS PLEX app downloaded from App Store we have not been able to hear live TV (via HD HOMERUN) on our mobile devices.

Does anyone know of a fix for this audio issue?

Doesn’t even play video for me (also HDHomerun but on QNAP), but the LiveTV issues are well documented in other threads.

Both video and audio work fine with every other app I have (HDHomerun, Channels…) and also works fine on AppleTB (current and “New Experience”).

Thanks for your comments JCHH and FrozenAce - good to know it’s not just an isolated issue.
I’ve been using Plex for many years and never felt the need to report an issue on this forum, but recent iOS app updates have ruined the mobile Plex user experience (IMO). I’m really hoping that a Plex Developer out there reads our posts and can escalate this issue so that it is resolved in the next iOS update. Please!

Yes, Finally version Plex IOS 2025.22.0 sound is back local network and Remote Access.

Same for me. Outstanding is the schedule beyond 1 day and some users still report sound issues. This is a good thread to monitor everything regarding Live TV.
