# Plex is not reading proper tags

If you got local metadata enabled, it should work. You mention deleting the files and re-adding, but did you do anything else? Typically, if you want Plex to recognize changes made to files, you must [plex dance](https://forums.plex.tv/t/the-plex-dance/197064) the files afterwards. If you don’t, Plex won’t even notice you deleted them and re-added them. Plex only analyzes and picks up metadata the very first time it notices a new file, and the dance causes plex to forget about the file so it can be “new” again.

There is not any phone or any kind of paid support, sadly. These forums are the only option, but as you can see there are often lots of people willing to offer help.
