Server Version#: 4.141.0 Player Version#: variable [Plex Media Server Logs\_2025-02-10\_01-24-56.zip](https://forums.plex.tv/uploads/short-url/pkifqxsgvcflMQxiRYlnjfV86gE.zip) (5.7 MB) I can’t tell for sure, but maybe with Unraid 7 or maybe not, a lot of my movies refuse to be transcoded, even locally. They won’t even start–it doesn’t stutter or anything, just the spinning circle–and the Unraid dashboard seemingly shows no spike in resources from anything part of the NAS. This is applied to 1080p Remuxes, to 2160p WEB and everything else. But what’s weird is that vast amounts of stuff of the same quality from the exact same source, work! For the record, they all play fine on Direct Play to my Shield and I’ve double checked the file integrity too. As far as I know, they all used to stream fine. This is a real head scratcher for me because without an obvious pattern, I have no idea how to troubleshoot it. The only thing I’ve tried is downgrading my Nvidia GPU driver (Quadro P2200) and that did jack squat. Would appreciate some help and thanks in advance. ---

I also have this issue when using Plex for Mac. It seems that none of the films can be transcoded. When I manually set transcoding, the video will start transcoding for a moment, but then freeze. The buffering circle will spin twice, and then the video will revert to its original quality, unable to be transcoded. However, when playing the films on other devices, transcoding works normally. Edit: Alright, I found the cause. It’s a bug with the ‘Enable HEVC video Encoding (experimental)’ feature. After disabling this feature, transcoding works normally. ---

I know the problem. Plex isn’t transcoding lossless audio. If my users change the audio to its core audio, it works np. Thanks for nothing and yes I’m salty. IDGAF ---

Im dealing with a similar problem. What version of PMS are you using? Ive rolled my test server back to 1.41.3.9292 and “seems” to be working. What version of nvidia drivers are you using. FYI you arnt the only one seeing issues ive been trying to resolve this for over a month to no avail. I tend to get network error messages as well ---
