2 days ago, Plex started exiting while watching a video, or trying to play a video. Am streaming from a Macbook Air to a Fire TV stick. The app keeps returning to the Plex logo, or returning to the Fire TV home screen. This has never happened (in about 8 years of use)…

Will likely need your [fire tv logs](https://support.plex.tv/articles/201573117-android-android-tv-fire-tv-logs/) to hopefully see what it was doing when it crashed.

I’ve reset everything (the app on my Mac, the Fire TV stick) AND signed out of Plex on both devices, and signed back in.
If the problem persists, will get the logs together (once i figure THAT out 😳). thankx!

There was a release this morning related to a crash [Plex for Android - #512 by PlexAndroidReleaser](https://forums.plex.tv/t/plex-for-android/29115/512) It may take Amazon a few days to get the update but if you know how to sideload apk you can get from link in that forum post

Interesting as I came here with exactly this problem. In the last week or so, Plex has just started crashing randomly playing all sorts of different content, just dumping me back to the Fire TV homescreen.
As nothing has changed I was suspecting a dodgy update.

Having the same issue posted on another topic and provided logs on the constant crashing.

Adding the build message from the other thread here in case.
[Here](https://artifacts.plex.tv/android-experimental/10.19.3.1200-862be5c4/PlexForAndroid-10.19.3.1200-862be5c4-armeabi-v7aAmazonRelease.apk) is a new build we reverted quite a few changes that were included in 10.19.0. As we are unable to reproduce the issue we can’t confirm 100% that this will fix it but we would appreciate some feedback. (Please make sure to uninstall the previous app otherwise you may run into issues installing this build.)

Once i got the update it was still crashing so i cleared cache and rebooted the device and was able to watch a show withought problems.

My friend was suddenly having this with his Firestick starting 2 or 3 days ago, he would hit play and then it would immediately exit back to the home screen. Rebooting and unplugging it didn’t fix it. Yesterday the app store said he was on the latest version, but I had him delete the app and reinstall it and it started working again. Maybe cache related? I should have checked the forums first and found this post so I could grab logs, but it’s too late now. It’s working though, so I don’t suppose it matters any more.

re-installing the app on my fire tv stick and logging out/in… seems to have fixed it here too. good stuff 👍

I had this problem a few years ago and the root cause was that the Fire TV stick had run out of storage. There are a bunch of temp files and other garbage that build up over years and cannot be cleared any way besides factory resetting the Fire TV stick. After the factory reset and reinstalling all of the same apps, I had about 60% free space on the stick.
It’s a bit annoying and time consuming to have to reinstall all your apps from scratch, but boy it started performing way better in general after the reset, and Plex stopped crashing.

this was not the issue here, as i have about 50% of the fire tv storage available. either way, great when we find fixes (or workarounds)…
